It was a jam-packed weekend for the Light From Africa Foundation (LFAF) team who hosted a number of activities for youth and adult participants in Suurbraak.
We pride ourselves in being able to support community-based organisations and youth reach their potential. Over the three days, 93 participants from four schools and two community organisations participated in various leadership and capacity-building workshops. Below is a breakdown of activities:
On Thursday, the prefects from Suurbraak and Mullersrus Primary Schools attended a full-day leadership workshop at the municipal hall in Suurbraak. This was followed by a handover of seedlings to Trust House and Fraai Viooltjies for their food gardens.

With our ongoing appeal to support the Suurbraak Primary School Library project, we visited the school to hand over resources that were donated for this project. This room is being transformed into a comfortable and inviting space for young learners.

Later that morning we visited Swellendam Secondary School for a team-building workshop with their staff. It was definitely one of our highlights. We ended the day with another team-building workshop with the ladies of the Xairu Foundation NBC at the Ouwawiel in Suurbraak. There were loads of laughter and learning.

Saturday morning the young leaders at Swellendam Secondary attended a full-day leadership workshop.

The success of these interactive programmes can largely be attributed to our dynamic facilitator, Andile Ndinkaka, as well as our donors who support the LFAF programmes that positively impact the lives of all participants and the community at large.
