Suurbraak Rural Arts Holiday Programme a Success

The Light from Africa Foundation (LFAF) had the pleasure of hosting a vibrant and inspiring four-day rural arts holiday programme in Suurbraak last month. Held in conjunction with the Suurbraak Municipal Library, the event was a tremendous success, bringing together the theme “Our Youth, Our Future.”

The programme provided an enriching experience for the children, who had a fantastic time engaging in various activities. They learned new skills, made new friends, and enjoyed delicious snacks prepared by a dedicated team of local ladies. The laughter and smiles of the children were a testament to the joy and excitement they experienced throughout the programme.

One of the most heartwarming aspects of the event was witnessing teenagers who had previously participated in our programmes step up as volunteers. Their willingness to give back to their community and help guide the younger children was truly inspiring. It was a beautiful example of the positive impact our programmes can have on the lives of young people.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the LFAF facilitators, the Suurbraak Library team, the ladies who prepared the snacks, and all the volunteers who contributed to making this event a resounding success. Your hard work and dedication are deeply appreciated.

The success of this holiday programme underscores the importance of investing in our youth. By providing them with opportunities to learn, grow, and connect, we are nurturing the leaders of tomorrow. We look forward to continuing our work in Suurbraak and other communities, empowering our youth and building a brighter future for all.
