At the Light from Africa Foundation (LFAF), community is at the heart of everything we do. That’s why Trust House, our resource centre in Suurbraak, is more than just a building—it’s a space of learning, creativity, and empowerment!
For the past eight years, Trust House has been a creative hub where we run all our rural projects. From its humble beginnings in 2017 with just two facilitators, the centre has grown into a vibrant learning space, now supported by eight facilitators and volunteers leading impactful programmes for the youth.
Exciting Upgrades for a Thriving Learning Hub
Thanks to a grant from STAND (Sustaining Theatre and Dance Foundation NPC), we’ve recently completed essential upgrades and repairs to ensure Trust House remains a safe and inspiring place for the children who attend our programmes. This investment allows us to continue offering life-changing experiences, including:
- Creative Arts Workshops – Unlocking imagination through painting, drama, and storytelling
- Youth Leadership Training – Empowering young leaders with confidence
- Reading & Literacy Programmes – Nurturing a love for books and lifelong learning
- Community Vegetable Garden – Teaching sustainability and food security
“Trust House is more than just a centre; it’s a beacon of hope and opportunity for young minds in Suurbraak. Every upgrade we make strengthens our commitment to nurturing creativity, education, and community empowerment. We’re deeply grateful for the support that allows us to continue this journey,” said LFAF Director, Almarie Pelser.
Whether you’re a community member, volunteer, or supporter, we invite you to experience the magic of Trust House firsthand. Email us at info@lightfromafrica.com for more information on how you can get involved. Together, we can continue to shape futures, one young mind at a time!
