Hero of the Month

Hero of the Month

Christine Dube-Basson has just been rewarded a certificate of merit for the humanitarian work she does with the Southern Suburbs Youth Academy in Grassy Park, Cape Town.. She is a mother figure to struggling young people who find it easy to confide in her and share their struggles. She helps them to prove the world’s negative assumptions about them wrong, and to develop a new vision for their lives.

Christine has had a remarkable journey of courage and determination.  She brought up 4 children as a widow, worked as an efficient housekeeper, became a bookkeeper assistant at Art in the Forest, and currently she is the face of the wonderful Outreach program of the Foundation called CARE OF THE CARE GIVER.  She has gone back to night school to do her grade 12 exams, and she is always ready for new challenges.  We are extremely proud of her!
